BEING A MAN

Ezekiel 22:30; 1 Corinthians 16:13-14

What kind of man is needed today? What kind of man does this world need? And what kind of man does your family need? What kind of man does the kingdom need?

A. The world desperately needs godly men who will stand faithfully for God, family, and truth.

B. Biblical manhood is defined by Christ like character, not cultural stereotypes.

C. God is still looking for men willing to stand in the gap spiritually.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A MAN?

Society gives many answers.

A. Some define manhood by toughness, success, dominance, independence, or physical strength.

B. Society often celebrates the loudest, toughest, or most aggressive examples of masculinity.

BUT WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY?

The Word of God presents a very different picture of manhood, one rooted in courage, humility, integrity, compassion, and self-control.

A. The world needs men of integrity.

B. Families need men who lead spiritually.

C. The church needs men who remain faithful.

A REAL MAN:

A. A real man walks with God faithfully.

B. A real man demonstrates strength under control.

C. A real man leads with humility and love.

D. Biblical strength is not cruelty or pride.

E. Jesus was the perfect example of manhood.

F. He was bold yet compassionate, strong yet gentle, authoritative yet sacrificial.

BIBLICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF MANHOOD:

A. Integrity

B. Responsibility

C. Courage

D. Self-control

E. Compassion

F, Faithfulness

CHALLENGE MEN TO:

A. Lead spiritually at home

B. Reject cultural extremes

C. Pursue holiness over image

D. Model Christ in speech and actions

E. Take the first step to being a man, and surrender to Christ

INVEST IN THE NEXT GENERATION

A father’s presence brings security and confidence, and affirmation. That kind of love is transformative because it reflects the way God designed fatherhood to work.
