ORANDO CON PODER Y AUTORIDAD

“Y esta es la confianza que tenemos en él, que si pedimos alguna cosa conforme a su voluntad, él nos oye. Y si sabemos que él nos oye en cualquiera cosa que pidamos, sabemos que tenemos las peticiones que le hayamos hecho.” (I Juan 5:14-15)

¿Estás cansado de sentirte impotente en tus oraciones? ¿Quieres saber cómo orar con valentía y autoridad? Nos enfrentamos a muchos desafíos y obstáculos pero tenemos un arma que puede derrotar al enemigo. La oración es un arma poderosa que puede derrotar a nuestros enemigos y traernos la victoria en cada área de nuestra vida. Cuando oramos, el poder, la revelación y la fuerza de Dios son nuestros. Deberíamos poner la oración como una prioridad en nuestras vidas. Esto es algo que sólo tú puedes hacer. Una persona que no comprende la importancia de la oración y no tiene una vida de oración exitosa siempre es débil en su vida espiritual. Cuando oras, ¿tienes confianza en que Dios te responderá? ¿Tus oraciones son específicas o en general? ¿Es tu vida de oración una respuesta casual a tus necesidades y deseos, o es alimento para tu vida espiritual?

Dado que la oración es esencial para la vida espiritual, debemos dedicar tiempo y esfuerzo para asegurarnos de saber cómo orar eficazmente. Aunque la oración puede surgir de manera instintiva, es necesario aprender a orar con eficacia. La humanidad ha orado desde el principio, pero no fue hasta que Dios mismo vino a vivir con nosotros en este planeta que comenzamos a aprender el significado de la oración y cómo orar de manera efectiva. La oración no es una repetición incesante de palabras y frases, como si fuera una fórmula, ni es negociar con Dios para que Él obre a nuestro favor. Debemos tener claro que ni nuestras elocuentes o largas oraciones ni los arrebatos emocionales de gritos y llantos mueven a Dios a nuestro favor.

Orar es hablar con Dios con el corazón, sin florituras, no por obligación o rutina, es hablar con Dios en fe, creyendo plenamente en nuestro corazón que Él está ahí para atender nuestras súplicas. Va más allá de simplemente abrir la boca y decir palabras, es más que una simple comunicación (Juan 14:14). La oración debe darnos tranquilidad y paz, ya que creemos por la fe que lo que hemos pedido ha sido concedido. No se puede orar con miedo y duda en el corazón, no podemos esperar escuchar de Dios a menos que estemos convencidos de lo que hemos pedido en oración. La palabra de Dios en el libro de Santiago nos advierte que quien pide de esta manera (dudoso) no puede esperar nada de Dios (Santiago 1:6-7).

Muchos de nosotros nos hemos preguntado sinceramente en algún momento: ¿cómo debemos entonces orar? Los discípulos le hicieron a Jesús la misma pregunta y el Señor les dio el ejemplo de “El Padrenuestro” (Mateo 6:9-13), que es la base y guía de oración de cómo se hace la oración efectiva. Basados en los principios enseñados en esta oración podemos desarrollar nuestra comunicación con el Señor. Con oraciones más profundas e íntimas. La oración no es sólo pedir y recibir sino que también implica acción de gracias, adoración y alabanza a Dios. Hay dos responsabilidades en la oración, la responsabilidad de Dios y la nuestra. La oración es tanto humana como divina.

Hay tres versículos que nos enseñan cómo orar con poder y autoridad; Mateo 21:22 “Y todo lo que pidáis en oración, lo recibiréis si tenéis fe”. Este versículo nos recuerda que nuestras oraciones no son palabras vacías sino que tienen el poder de mover montañas si tenemos fe en Dios. Nuestra fe en Dios es lo que activa el poder de nuestras oraciones, cuando oramos con fe le estamos diciendo a Dios que creemos que puede hacer lo que le pedimos y confiamos en su bondad y misericordia. Efesios 6:18 “Y orad en el espíritu en toda ocasión con toda clase de oraciones y peticiones”. Este versículo nos enseña que debemos orar en el espíritu, permitiendo que el Espíritu Santo guíe nuestras oraciones y nos dé las palabras que decir. Debemos orar por todo tipo de peticiones no sólo para nosotros sino también para los demás. Debemos estar alerta y persistentes en nuestras oraciones, nunca rendirnos ni desanimarnos. Santiago 5:16 “La oración del justo es poderosa y eficaz. Este versículo nos recuerda que nuestras oraciones no son solo palabras sino que tienen el poder de cambiar las cosas, cuando oramos con rectitud, lo que significa vivir una vida que agrada a Dios, nuestras oraciones se vuelven efectivas y poderosas. Dios escucha y responde las oraciones de los justos.

Uno de los pasajes más simples y profundos sobre la oración en la Biblia se encuentra en Mateo 7:7-11: "Pedid y recibiréis, buscad y encontraréis, llamad y se abrirá. Porque todo el que pide recibe, y el que busca encuentra, y al que llama se le abrirá". Nótese la intensidad de la progresión del Señor en este pasaje: "Pide... busca... llama". Claramente, Jesús tenía en mente que deberíamos participar activamente en el proceso de oración. ¡La oración no es un deporte para espectadores!

COMO ORAR CON PODER Y AUTORIDAD

1) Orar en el espíritu, debemos permitir que el Espíritu Santo guíe nuestras oraciones y nos dé las palabras para decir. El Espíritu Santo intercede por nosotros con gemidos que no se pueden expresar con palabras (Romanos 8 26) y nos ayuda a orar según la voluntad de Dios. Orar en el espíritu es un componente esencial de orar con poder y autoridad.

2) Orar con fe creyendo que Dios puede hacer lo que le pedimos. La fe es la llave que abre el poder de nuestras oraciones. Debemos tener fe en la bondad, la misericordia y el amor de Dios por nosotros, sabiendo que él escucha y responde nuestras oraciones según su voluntad.

3) Orar con perseverancia, debemos ser persistentes en nuestras oraciones sin rendirnos ni desanimarnos. Jesús nos enseñó a pedir, buscar y llamar y recibiremos lo que pidamos (Mateo 7:7). Debemos seguir orando hasta recibir una respuesta, sabiendo que Dios escucha y responde nuestras oraciones en el momento perfecto.

4) Orar con justicia, debemos vivir una vida que agrade a Dios y caminar en justicia si queremos que nuestras oraciones sean efectivas. Santiago 5:16 nos recuerda que la oración del justo es poderosa y eficaz. Cuando vivimos una vida que agrada a Dios, nuestras oraciones se convierten en un arma poderosa en nuestras manos.

5) Orar con Acción de Gracias. Siempre debemos orar con acción de gracias, dando gracias a Dios por su bondad, misericordia y amor por nosotros. La acción de gracias es un acto de fe que reconoce la fidelidad y la bondad de Dios en nuestras vidas. Cuando oramos con Acción de Gracias abrimos la puerta para que lleguen más bendiciones a nuestras vidas.

La oración es un arma poderosa que puede derrotar a nuestros enemigos y traernos la victoria en cada área de Nuestras Vidas. Debemos orar con poder y autoridad, con fe, perseverancia, rectitud y acción de gracias sabiendo que Dios escucha y responde nuestras oraciones según su voluntad.

Hay un elemento vital en la oración que muchos pasan por alto; constancia en la oración. Quizás veamos que no pasa nada, pero un retraso entre lo que pedimos y cuando lo recibimos no significa que Dios no esté respondiendo nuestras oraciones. Dios quiere responder nuestras oraciones. Él no nos dio oración con el propósito de frustrarnos o con la intención de dejar nuestras oraciones sin respuesta.

 UNA ORACIÓN EFECTIVA Y EFICAZ (Mateo 6:9-13)

De igual importancia es ser completo en la oración. El orar por completo incluye todos los aspectos de la oración, o sea entendiendo lo que usted debe hacer.  Una vez que sabe que hacer, el orar nunca le parecerá difícil.

 

Adoración y Alabanza:

 

1. La adoración y alabanza a Dios son ciertamente esenciales. La adoración se centra en el carácter de Dios y delinea los santos atributos que lo hacen digno de toda adoración. 

 

2. Es bueno comenzar nuestra oración con alabanza, utilizando los salmos (Salmo 145-150).

 

3. Dar al Señor toda la honra y gloria por todas las cosas. Adorar, glorificar, y ensalzar Su nombre con todo el Corazón.

 

4. Es bueno orar, expresando la Palabra de Dios memorizada en nuestra mente.

 

Confesión: (I Juan 1:6-10; 2:1-2)

En tu oración, no te olvides de esto. Confiesa al Señor tus pecados y debilidades espirituales. No uses términos generales en tu confesión hacia al Señor, sino se especifico en esto. El pecado no confesado es el mayor estorbo a la oración.

Dar Gracias: (Filipenses 4:6)

Hay tanto porque dar gracias a Dios. Por las cosas pequeñas como las grandes que Él nos concede en esta vida. Por el hálito de vida, el privilegio de orar, la salvación, el don del Espíritu Santo, la salud, bendiciones materiales y espirituales y muchas cosas más ( I Tes. 5:18).

Intercesión: La intercesión es el amor de Dios, fluyendo a través de nosotros.

 

1.  Será una ayuda para usted y para otros que usted interceda por medio de la oración (I Tim. 2:1-3).

 

2. ¿Interceder por quien o por qué?

 

a.  Su  Familia. Necesidades espirituales y materiales. Por todos los hermanos de la iglesia, peticiones especiales presentadas. Por los hermanos que están débiles espiritualmente, por las personas que no son salvas, familiares como amigos, y por los enfermos.

b.  Por su pastor y demás ministros.

 

c. Ore por Ud. mismo. Para que sea fiel en todo, que pueda consagrar su vida más cada día.

Meditación: (Salmos 1:1-2; 77:12)

En la meditación, reflexiona en los sagrados temas de la Palabra de Dios y en Su bondad. Al meditar, experimentar mayor comprensión de lo profundo y maravilloso de las promesas divinas. Esta comprensión magnificara tu oración y a la vez, tu vida. 

Escuchar: (I Reyes 19:11-12)

La oración no es nada mas hablar a Dios. También hay que escuchar. Escuchar es diferente de la meditación. Cuando escuchamos, recibimos órdenes directas de Dios.

Adoración  y  Alabanza:

Es indispensable terminar nuestra oración de esta manera, agradeciéndole por haber contestado las peticiones que le hemos hecho. Así como nuestros primeros pensamientos al principiar el día deben ser en Él, de igual manera al terminar el día.

Se debe cultivar el habito de la oración en la vida del Cristiano, pues un habito no se forma en un día, se requiere tiempo. Se necesita disciplina para cultivarlo bien.

 

 

 

 

PRAYING WITH POWER AND AUTHORITY

“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.” (I John 5:14-15)

Are you tired of feeling powerless in your prayers? Do you want to know how to pray with boldness and Authority? We face many challenges and obstacles but we have a weapon that can defeat the enemy. Prayer is a powerful weapon that can defeat our enemies and bring us victory in every area of our lives. When we pray, the power, the revelation, and the strength of God is ours. We should set prayer as a priority in our lives. This is something only you can do. A person who does not have an understanding of the importance of prayer and does not have a successful prayer life is always weak in their spiritual life. When you pray, do you have confidence that God will answer? Are your prayers specific or in general? Is your prayer life a casual response to your needs and desires, or is it food for your spiritual life?

Since prayer is essential to the spiritual life, we must devote time and effort to make sure we know how to pray effectively. Although prayer can come instinctively, to pray effectively must be learned. Mankind has prayed from the beginning, but it was not until God Himself came to live with us on this planet that we began to learn the meaning of prayer and how to pray effectively. Prayer is not an incessant repetition of words and phrases, as if it were a formula, nor is it to negotiate with God for Him to work in our favor. We must be clear that neither our eloquent or long prayers nor the emotional outbursts of screaming and crying move God in our favor.

Prayer is talking to God with our heart, without frills, not out of obligation or routine, it is to talk to God in faith, fully believing in our hearts that He is there to attend to our supplications. It goes beyond simply opening your mouth and saying words, it is more than just a simple communication (John 14:14). Prayer should give us tranquility and peace, as we believe by faith that what we have asked has been granted. You cannot pray with fear and doubt in your hearts, we cannot expect to hear from God unless we are convinced of what we have asked in prayer. The word of God in the book of James warns us that whoever asks in this manner (doubtful) cannot expect anything from God (James 1:6-7).

Many of us truthfully have at one time asked ourselves, how then are we to pray? The disciples asked Jesus the same question and the Lord gave the example of “The Lord’s prayer" (Matthew 6:9-13), which is the basis and prayer guide for how effective prayer is made. Based on the principles taught in this prayer we can develop our communication with the Lord with deeper and more intimate prayers. Prayer is not only asking and receiving but also involves thanksgiving, worship, and praise to God. There are two responsibilities in prayer, God's responsibility and our responsibility. Prayer is both human and divine.

There are three verses that teach us how to pray with power and authority; Matthew 21:22 “And whatever you ask in prayer you will receive if you have faith.” this verse reminds us that our prayers are not empty words but have the power to move mountains if we have faith in God. Our faith in God is what activates the power of our prayers, when we pray with faith we are saying to God that we believe he can do what we are asking and we trust in his goodness and mercy. Ephesians 6:18 “And pray in the spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.” This verse teaches us that we should pray in the spirit allowing the Holy Spirit to guide our prayers and give us the words to say. We should pray for all kinds of requests not just for ourselves but for others as well. We must be alert and persistent in our prayers never giving up or becoming discouraged. James 5:16 “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective”. This verse reminds us that our prayers are not just words but they have the power to change things, when we pray with righteousness which means living a life that pleases God, our prayers become effective and Powerful. God hears and answers the prayers of the righteous.

One of the most simple and deepest passages regarding prayer in the Bible is found in Matthew 7:7-11: "Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” Note the intensity of progression of the Lord in this passage: "Ask... seek ... knock." Clearly, Jesus had in mind that we should be actively engaged in the process of prayer. Prayer is not a spectator sport!

HOW TO PRAY WITH POWER AND AUTHORITY

1) Pray in the spirit, we must allow the Holy Spirit to guide our prayers and give us the words to say. The Holy Spirit intercedes for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words (Romans 8 26) and he helps us pray according to God's will. Praying in the spirit is an essential component of praying with power and authority.

2) Pray with faith believing that God can do what we are asking. Faith is the key that unlocks the power of our prayers. We must have faith in God's goodness, mercy, and love for us, knowing that he hears and answers our prayers according to his will.

3) Pray with persistence, we must be persistent in our prayers never giving up or becoming discouraged. Jesus taught us to ask seek and knock and we will receive what we ask for (Matthew 7:7). We must keep praying until we receive an answer, knowing that God hears and answers our prayers in his perfect timing.

4) Pray with righteousness, we must live a life that pleases God and walk in righteousness if we want our prayers to be effective. James 5:16 reminds us that the prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. When we live a life that pleases God our prayers become a powerful weapon in our hands.

5) Pray with thanksgiving. We must always pray with thanksgiving, giving thanks to God for his goodness, mercy, and love for us. Thanksgiving is an act of faith that acknowledges God's faithfulness and goodness in our lives. When we pray with thanksgiving we open the door for more blessings to come into our lives.

Prayer is a powerful weapon that can defeat our enemies and bring us victory in every area of our lives. We must pray with power and authority, with faith, persistence, righteousness, and thanksgiving knowing that God hears and answers our prayers according to his will.

There is a vital element in prayer that many overlook; constancy in prayer. Maybe we see that nothing happens, but a delay between what we ask for and when we receive it does not mean that God is not answering our prayers. God wants to answer our prayers. He did not give us prayer with the purpose of frustrating us or with the intent of leaving our prayers unanswered.

AN EFFECTIVE AND EFFICIENT PRAYER (Matthew 6:9-13)

Equally important is to be complete in prayer. Praying completely covers all aspects of prayer. That is, understand what you should do. Once you know what to do, praying will never seem difficult.

Worship and Praise:

1. Worship and praise of God are certainly essential. Adoration focuses on the character of God and delineates the holy attributes that make Him worthy of all worship

2. It is good to begin our prayer with praise, using the Psalms (Psalms 145-150).

3. Give the Lord all the honor and glory for all things. Worship, glorify, and praise His name wholeheartedly.

4. It is good to pray, expressing the Word of God stored in our minds.

Confession: (I John 1:6-10, 2:1-2)

1. When you pray, do not forget this. Confess your sins and spiritual weaknesses to the Lord. Do not use general terms in your confession to the Lord, but be specified in this. Un-confessed sin is the greatest hindrance to prayer.

2. Confession is our white flag of surrender that acknowledges we cannot succeed on our own.

Thanksgiving: (Philippians 4:6)

1. There is so much to thank God for. For the small and large things that He gives us in this life. Living a life of thanksgiving and gratitude begins in prayer. All blessings come from God, whether we acknowledge them or not.

2. Thank Him for the breath of life, the privilege of prayer, salvation, the gift of the Holy Spirit, health, spiritual blessings and much more (I Thess. 5:18).

Intercession: Intercession is God's love flowing through us.

1. This is the part of the prayer we lay before the Lord the needs and struggles of others and ours (I Tim. 2:1-3). This is not merely a “to-do” list for God; rather, an avenue to discern His will for our lives and to draw us closer to Him. He knows our desires and hurts, and He delights in hearing them from us.

2. Intercede for whom or why?

a. Your Family, for spiritual and material needs. For all the brethren of the church, special requests submitted. For the brothers who are weak spiritually, for people who are not saved, relatives and friends, and for the sick.

b. For your pastor and other ministers.

c. Pray for yourself. To be faithful in all, so you can devote your life every day.

Meditation: (Psalm 1:1-2; 77:12)

In meditation, reflect on sacred themes of the Word of God and His goodness. When meditating, you will experience a greater understanding of the wonderful and profound of the divine promises. This understanding will magnify your prayer and your life.

Listening: (I Kings 19:11-12)

Prayer is not only talking to God. We must also listen. Listening is different from meditation. When we listen, we receive direct orders from God.

Praise and Worship:

It is essential to finish our prayer in this manner, thanking Him for answering the requests that we have made. As our first thoughts to begin the day should be on Him, in the same manner, it should also be at the end of the day.

We should cultivate the habit of prayer in our Christian life, as a habit is not formed in a day, it takes time. It takes discipline to cultivate well.

 

ORACIÓNS SIN RESPUESTAS

“Ésta es la confianza que tenemos en Él, que si pedimos algo conforme a Su voluntad, Él nos oye. Y si sabemos que Él nos escucha, cualquier cosa que le pidamos, sabemos que tenemos las peticiones que le hemos pedido”. (I Juan 5:14-15)

“Por eso os digo que todo lo que pidáis orando, creed que lo recibiréis y lo obtendréis”. (Marcos 11:24)

“Pedís y no recibís, porque pedís mal”. (Santiago 4:3)

Todos nosotros hemos tenido experiencias en las que nuestras oraciones parecían quedar sin respuesta. A veces pasan días, semanas o incluso años y todavía nos preguntamos, ¿cuándo va a responder Dios? Dios no se ha olvidado de ti ni te ha abandonado. La Biblia nos dice “El Señor mismo va delante de vosotros y estará con vosotros; Él nunca te dejará ni te abandonará. No tengas miedo; no os desaniméis” (Dt 31,8). Dios responde cada oración con un "sí", un "no" o un "espera". Sin embargo, en todos los casos, las Escrituras sugieren que nuestras oraciones están siendo atendidas. Nuestra actitud debe ser de confianza implícita.

Fe es creer en la realidad de las cosas, aunque no podamos verlas (Heb. 11:1). Jesús dijo que “cuando” oras, debes creer que “recibes” tu respuesta en ese momento. La palabra "recibir" proviene de la palabra griega lambano, que significa "recibir ahora" (tiempo presente). Luego dice que los “tendremos”. "Tener" proviene de esomai, que significa "poseer más tarde" (tiempo futuro). Cuando oramos debemos creer en los resultados finales de nuestra oración, y eventualmente experimentaremos los resultados tangibles algún tiempo después.

Una de las razones principales por qué sus oraciones no son contestadas es porque tal vez usted no ha sido verdaderamente persistente en la oración. Usted debe comenzar aquí. Jesús presento una parábola para mostrar la necesidad  de ser persistente en la oración. Para ser efectivo, usted debe orar con gran seriedad. Gran seriedad nos conduce a la persistencia. Persistencia en la oración significa, tener una gran necesidad que importa tanto a su corazón que lo traiga con usted todo el día y duerme con ella en su corazón por la noche, a tiempo y fuera de tiempo, se lo lleva al Señor en oración sincero. La persistencia en la oración no solamente obra para probarle a Dios nuestra seriedad profunda, pero para crear esta seriedad en nuestros corazones y  para demostrarlo a nosotros mismos. Persistencia en la oración que trae una respuesta de Dios para su necesidad definitiva, es oración que se extiende hacia Dios de cada área de su vida, y desde cada hora de su vida. No se queja de las oraciones que no han sido contestadas a menos que ha estado orando con sinceridad y persistencia.

Aun cuando usted ha sido muy sincero y muy persistente, la respuesta no ha vendió como usted lo deseaba. ¿Qué entonces? Quizás sus oraciones quedan por contestar porque no subieron al trono de Dios de un corazón limpio y sincero. El pecado paraliza el poder de la oración. El Salmista David quiso el honor de edificar el templo en Jerusalén, pero el pecado en su vida le impidió que realizara esa ambición. Santiago 5:16 nos dice: “La oración eficaz del justo puede mucho.”  Una traducción moderna lo presenta en estas palabras: “Un hombre bueno puede lograr mucho a través de la oración si se esfuerza” Ah, allí está el secreto importante que abre la puerta para que sus oraciones pueden ser contestadas. “Un hombre bueno.”

Entre el poder con Dios en la oración y la bondad de la persona que ora hay una conexión vital. Significa algo ambos en la tierra y en el cielo cuando la persona que ora es una persona buena. Viviendo justamente, teniendo un lenguaje limpio y pensamiento puro tienen sus valores positivos en traerle una respuesta a la oración, y su ausencia en la vida de una persona nos explica la razón por que no se han contestado sus oraciones. “Bienaventurados los de limpio corazón,” dijo Jesús, “porque ellos verán a Dios.” Dios los ve, y Dios los oye, y Dios les contesta. Usted no tiene por qué quejarse si sus oraciones no han sido contestada si has retenido esperanzas impías y ambiciones egoístas dentro de su corazón.

Ninguno de nosotros somos sin pecado. Cada día, en una manera u otra quebrantamos los mandamientos de Dios. Violamos sus propósitos santos de vida humana en pensamiento, en palabra, y en hechos. Si tuviera que ser absolutamente perfecto para poder recibir alguna cosa de la oración, nunca estaría en una posición de recibir. Quizás, sus oraciones quedan sin contestación porque no tiene un corazón de perdón cuando ora.

El único comentario que Jesús hizo sobre la oración que les enseño a Sus discípulos esta en Mateo 6:14-15; dijo: “Porque si perdonáis a los hombres sus ofensas, os perdonará también a vosotros vuestro Padre celestial; mas si no perdonáis a los hombres sus ofensas, tampoco vuestro Padre os perdonará vuestras ofensas.”  Si, reteniendo amargura, venganza y rencores en su corazón contra otra persona lo previenen el perdón de su pecado por Dios, también previene esos otros positivos, aspectos de sanidad de la oración que solo puede venir a la persona que ha sido perdonado. El perdón de otros no depende de su arrepentimiento o su vida cambiada, depende en su relación con Dios; y en su determinación para ser otorgado perdón por Dios por su pecado. Usted no puede quejarse de la oración que no ha sido contestada si usted odia a alguien, si esta amargado contra alguien o si guarda resentimiento en su corazón contra alguien.

Puede ser que usted no sea culpable de esto. Por la gracia de Dios, su corazón puede ser limpiado de todo mal que siente contra todo individuo. Pero, aún las cosas por las que usted ora no vienen. Sus oraciones quedan sin contestarse, porque no están en acuerdo con la voluntad de Dios. Me supongo, que usted está tratando de orar por cosas de acuerdo a la voluntad de Dios. Si esto no es así, entonces el asunto se termina aquí, inmediatamente. Nadie puede atreverse a establecer su propia voluntad en desafió a la voluntad divina de Dios.

El premier precepto cuando ora es que usted está buscando entrar en la voluntad de Dios ambos por su vida y por su deseo que le trae al trono de Dios en oración. Usted debe saber que la vida es entendible sólo cuando se vive en acuerdo a la voluntad de Dios. No encontrara felicidad en ninguna otra manera. Pero aún así, los mejores de hombres no podrán comprender totalmente la voluntad de Dios. Para los mejores de hombres, algunas oraciones quedan sin respuesta, porque la respuesta deseada iría contra el propósito Divino. Usted debe de confiar y seguir confiando, sabiendo que cuando es hecha la voluntad de Dios, es lo mejor no solo para usted, pero para esos alrededor de usted.

Hay otro aspecto de la verdad que se pasa por alto; es fácil perder vista del bosque por los árboles. Usted puede considerar que sus oraciones no están siendo contestadas cuando en realidad si están siendo contestadas. Ninguna persona puede decir verdaderamente: “Sigo  orando y nada pasa.” Algo siempre sucede. Yo creo que, aunque Dios no contesta siempre la oración, Dios siempre le contesta a la persona que hace la oración. Cuando ora, como le he indicado, y con su confianza completa en Él, algo siempre sucede. ¿Cómo contesta Dios la oración? A veces por darnos las cosas que buscamos. A veces por negarnos las cosas que buscamos. Pero la negativa es tanto una respuesta, como en verdad una respuesta amorosa, como la negativa de la madre a su hijo en darle todo que pide. A veces en hacerlo esperar, hasta que la cosa que usted busca está lista para usted o hasta que usted está listo para ello. En ambos casos la respuesta es una respuesta de amor. Cuando usted ora, y seguí orando, usted entrara en un compañerismo con Dios, y en la Divina voluntad de Dios.  

Hay muchas razones por las que las oraciones pueden quedar sin respuesta. Siempre debemos revisarnos y evaluar nuestro estilo de vida moral, físico y espiritual cada vez que notemos que las cosas no van como deberían. Cuando oramos, debemos considerar las intenciones de nuestro corazón y asegurarnos de que se alineen con la voluntad de Dios. Debemos practicar la fe y la paciencia.

¿Cuántos han orado por algo, sólo para ver que sus oraciones no han recibido respuesta? ¿Cuántos han orado y tal vez se han “dado por vencidos” porque se han desanimado por una debilidad de fe o han llegado a la conclusión de que cualquier cosa por la que han estado orando no es la voluntad de Dios? Dios puede parecernos silencioso, pero nunca nos despide con las manos vacías. Incluso si la oración no ha sido respondida, debemos confiar en que Dios lo hará en Su propio tiempo. 

 

 

UNANSWERED PRAYERS

 

“This is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.” (I John 5:14-15)

“Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” (Mark 11:24)

“You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss.” (James 4:3)

 

All of us have had experiences when our prayers seemed to go unanswered. Sometimes days, weeks, or even years will go by and we still find ourselves wondering, when is God going to answer? God hasn’t forgotten about you or abandoned you. The Bible tells us “The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged” (Deut 31:8). God answers every prayer with a “yes,” a “no,” or a “wait.” In every case, though, Scripture suggests that our prayers are being dealt with. Our attitude should be one of implicit confidence.

Faith is believing in the reality of things, even though we cannot see them (Heb. 11:1). Jesus said that “when” you pray, you must believe that you “receive” your answer at that moment. The word, “receive” comes from the Greek word, lambano, which means “to receive now” (present tense). He then says we will “have” them. "Have" comes from, esomai, which means “to possess later” (future tense). When we pray we must believe in the finished results of our prayer, and we will eventually experience the tangible results sometime later.

One of the main reasons why your prayers are not answered is because you have not been truly persistent in prayer. You must start here. Jesus spoke a parable to show the need for persistence in prayer. To be effective, you must pray with great sincerity. Great sincerity leads to persistence. Persistency in prayer means to have a great need that matters so much on your heart that you carry it with you all day and sleep with it on your heart by night, and in season and out of season you take it to the Lord in sincere prayer. Persistence in prayer works not only to prove to God your deep sincerity, but to create this sincerity in your heart and, to demonstrate it to yourselves. Persistency in prayer that brings an answer from God for your definite need is prayer that reaches out to God from every area of your life and from every hour of your being. Don’t complain about unanswered prayers unless your praying has been sincere and persistent.

Even when you have been deeply sincere and very persistent, the answer has not come as you sought it! What then? Perhaps your prayers remain unanswered because they did not rise to the throne of God from a heart of godliness and truth. Sin cripples the power of prayer. The Psalmist David wanted the honor of building the temple in Jerusalem, but the sin in his life kept him from realizing this ambition. The Book of James 5:16 tells us: “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” A modern translation of this verse reads as follows: “A good man can accomplish much through prayer when he tries.” Ah, there’s the secret key that opens the door so your prayers can be answered, “a good man.”

Between power with God in prayer and the goodness of the person who prays exists a vital connection. It means something both on earth and in heaven when the person who prays is a good person. Righteous living, clean speech, and pure thinking have their positive values in bringing an answer to prayer, and their absence in a person’s life explains much of the unanswered prayers that trouble them. “Blessed are the pure in heart,” said Jesus, “for they shall see God!” God sees them, and God hears them, and God answers them. You cannot complain about unanswered prayer if you have held sinful hopes and selfish ambitions within your heart.

No one is sinless. Every day, in one way or another we break the commandments of God. We violate His purposes of human life, in thought, in word, and in deed. If you had to be absolutely holy before you could expect anything from prayer, you would never be in a position to expect anything. Perhaps, the reason that your prayers remain unanswered is because you do not have a heart of forgiveness when you pray?

The only commentary that Jesus made on prayer He taught His disciples in Matthew 6:14-15 was: “If you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you; but if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” If, holding bitterness, revenge, and feeling of resentment in your heart against other people prevents the forgiveness of your sin by God? It also prevents those other positive, healing aspects of prayer that can come only to the person who has been forgiven. Forgiveness of others does not depend on their repentance or their changed life; it depends on your relationship to God; and upon your determination to be granted forgiveness by God for your sin. You cannot complain about unanswered prayer if you hate someone if you are bitter against someone, or if you harbor resentment in your heart against someone.

It may be that you are not guilty of this. By the grace of God, your heart may be washed clean of all ill feelings against all individuals. Yet the things for which you pray do not come. Your prayers may also remain unanswered because they are not in accord with the will of God. Many believers try to pray for things agreeable to the will of God. If this is not so, then the matter ends immediately. No one can dare set up their own will in defiance of the divine will of God.

The first premise when you pray should be that you are seeking to enter into the will of God both by your life and by your desire which you bring to the throne of God in prayer. You must know that life is understandable only when lived in compliance with the will of God. You will not find happiness in any other way. But even so, the best of men may not understand wholly the will of God. For the best of men, some prayers remain unanswered, because the desired answer would run contrary to the Divine purpose. You are to trust and keep on trusting, knowing that when the will of God is done, it is best not only for you but for those around you.

There is another aspect of the truth that may be overlooked; it is easy to lose sight of the forest for the trees. You may consider that your prayers are not being answered when in reality they are being answered. No person can truly say: “I keep on praying, and nothing happens.” Something always happens. I believe that while God may not always answer the prayer, God always answers the person praying. When you pray, as we have indicated, and with complete reliance upon Him, something always happens. How does God answer prayer? Sometimes by giving us the things we asked for. Sometimes by refusing us the things we seek. But the refusal is as much an answer, as truly a loving answer, as the refusal of the mother to give her child everything it asks for. Sometimes by having you wait, and maybe you are waiting now, until either the thing you seek is ready for you, or until you are ready for it. In either case, the answer is an answer of love. Whenever you pray, and keep on praying, you are brought into fellowship with God, and into the divine will of God.  

There are many reasons why prayers can go unanswered. We need to always check ourselves and evaluate our moral, physical, and spiritual lifestyle whenever we notice that things aren’t going the way they should. When we pray, we must consider the intentions of our hearts and make sure they align with the will of God. We must practice faith and patience.

How many have prayed for something, only to see their prayers go unanswered? How many have prayed and perhaps have “given up” because either they have become discouraged through a weakness of faith or have come to the conclusion that whatever they have been praying for isn’t God’s will? God may seem silent to us, but He never sends us away empty-handed. Even if prayer has not been answered, we must rely upon God to do so in His own time.
